Our Thoracic Surgery department provides diagnosis and treatment for surgical diseases involving the lungs, chest wall, mediastinum and structures within the chest.

Lung and chest masses, pulmonary nodules, pleural diseases, chest wall disorders, selected lung diseases and chest trauma are among the department’s areas of care.

At Koza Health Group Thoracic Surgery, the need for surgery is evaluated individually for each patient. When needed, care is coordinated with Pulmonology, Radiology and other relevant specialties to support a holistic process from diagnosis through treatment and follow-up.

What Conditions Does Thoracic Surgery Treat?

Surgical diseases of the lungs, pleura, chest wall and mediastinum fall within the scope of Thoracic Surgery. Pulmonary nodules, certain masses, chest trauma and other chest conditions that may require surgery are evaluated.

When Should You See a Thoracic Surgeon?

You may be referred for evaluation when a lung nodule or mass is detected on imaging, after chest trauma, or when Pulmonology recommends surgical assessment.
